Always Exhausted?

By | January 26, 2016

Do you feel tired, even after a full night’s sleep? Are you exhausted at work?

Exhausted Man Who May Have Sleep ApneaMore and more studies have been proven to show that there is a correlation between sleeping problems such as sleep apnea and exhaustion, as well as other severe health consequences. Many people think that if they just sleep more, then they will feel more rested. Ultimately, this is not always the case.

Insufficient “deep” sleep is now so common that the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention in the United States now considers it an epidemic. Sleep disorders can contribute to a number of risk factors such as: obesity, heartburn or acid reflux, diabetes, high blood pressure, and many others.

Tnx a lot for posting this, …
I mostly work night shifts on my regular job, n then get to my part time job with very little or no sleep,…
I knew that this would disrupt my circadian rhythm and had accepted the fact that I will be very drowsy & tired the remaining hours of the day, I try to balance it out by sleeping for an extended period of time on my off-days from my regular job,…..
I never expected that all the heart burn n acid reflux were related to my sleeping arrangements, ….
    Again, Thank you very much!!!!…..

      Hi Mike,
Thanks for your feedback! That was also one of the problems I had, was the severe acid reflux. Since I’ve been on my CPAP machine, I haven’t had any acid reflux.
Hope you’re able to get that under control, it’s no fun!
      Regards,
      Shawn

Hi Shawn very nice site lots of helpful info. I personally don’t suffer from sleep apnea but a couple of close friends do and have a machine they use at night when sleeping I really didn’t know this condition was so prevalent, Once again thank you for the interesting read, cheers Mike.

      Hi Mike,
Glad to hear you don’t suffer from it. I must say, since I’ve started using my CPAP machine, my quality of sleep is so much better. I hope that’s the case with your friends as well.
      Regards,
      Shawn

    Hello Shawn,
Very good information here! I know many people suffer from this disorder and don’t know it. I am an LPN and have worked in a hospital. I have tried to relay the importance of this problem to many people and how it can really effect their lives. This is a great site, with great information on the subject.

The site is very appealing to the eye and is not overwhelming. I salute you on the good work that is done here.

      Hi Rebecca,
Thanks very much for your feedback, I appreciate it! It’s amazing how many people I know that have it and that list keeps growing. The problems that it causes makes it all that important that people should get tested for it. Wearing a CPAP machine has made a world of difference in my life, and probably of my wife’s as well.
      All the best,
      Shawn

Nice site. Both my brother and my father are on a CPAP machine. This makes sense to be so tired. My brother is still pretty tired but I don’t think he uses his machine like he is supposed to.

      Hi Kelly,
It’s amazing if you don’t wear your CPAP machine. The symptoms don’t disappear. I found I have to use the CPAP machine every night or I immediately begin to start snoring again and the acid reflux reappears. I hope your brother uses his machine properly, it will probably make a difference for him.
      Regards,
      Shawn
