These are relatable questions, but the only reason I can think of is that I have recurring acid reflux. When it happens Id wake up gasping. Sometimea id choke on my saliva too. Damn annoying.

      Hi Zaid,
Man, can I relate to your comment! I used to have acid reflux as well and it would always happen during the night, waking me up with that awful burning feeling. I do have a prescription for acid reflux medication but thankfully, I haven’t had any occurrences since I started on my CPAP machine, which was 10 months ago. I hope you’re able to find a solution to your acid reflux. I know it’s no fun!

    Hi Shawn,
Great site and very informative in all aspects of this condition.
I took the liberty to run through this quiz and the only thing I have found was my snoring (according to my wife I snore, but I don’t hear anything). As for the other comment posted here I have on occasion felt I had acid reflux but not very often. As for everything else on here I have checked as no.
I know I have an aquaintant who mentioned he has sleep apnea and does use the machine himself. Next time I see him I will suggest this site for him as it may be useful and helpful to him. Thanks

      Hi Michael,
Thanks very much for your comments and for taking the time to look at my site. I used to say the same thing to my wife! She would say I snore and I would say I didn’t because I didn’t hear myself. It got to the point that I would wake myself up because of my snoring. I used to have acid reflux as well, in fact I still have a prescription to deal with it, but ever since I’ve been on my CPAP machine, I no longer have any issues with it. By the sounds of it, you may not have sleep apnea, but if you start to find yourself tired during the day even after a “good” night’s sleep, and your wife says you still snore, you may want to go through the sleep study, just to be sure.
I appreciate you referring my site to your acquaintance.
